![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NTFS For Mac: Supported OS Versions Knowledge Base Here is a list of officially supported Mac. Note: This test was done on a RPi 3, so newer Pis (3+, 4) might further benefit from the better USB controllers and USB 3.0. Paragon lists their NTFS driver as Ventura compatible as long as youre at 15.10.468 or higher. Linux raspberrypi 5.15.76-v8+ #1597 SMP PREEMPT Fri Nov 4 12:16: aarch64 GNU/Linux Paragon Driver for macOS (10.10 to 10.15) This driver provides write access for Seagate external drives in Mac OS without having to reformat. Result: 7.4 MB/s ntfs-3g -o big_writes $ sudo mount -t ntfs-3g -o big_writes /dev/sda1 $ mountġ04857600 bytes (105 MB, 100 MiB) copied, 7.73435 s, 13.6 $ $ sudo umount hddĭescription: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) The City of Fawn Creek is located in the State of Kansas. dev/sda1 on /home/pi/hdd type fuseblk $ cd $ dd if=/dev/zero of=write.test bs=100M count=1 oflag=dsyncġ04857600 bytes (105 MB, 100 MiB) copied, 14.1101 s, 7.4 $ $ sudo umount hdd Result: 24.2 MB/s ntfs-3g $ sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 $ mount Since updating to a new M1 MacBook (and Paragon NTFS For Mac 15.8.108) everything worked fine at first sight, but the last few months I notice that a lot of the files I transfered (lets say. dev/sda1 on /home/pi/hdd type ntfs3 $ cd $ dd if=/dev/zero of=write.test bs=100M count=1 oflag=dsyncġ04857600 bytes (105 MB, 100 MiB) copied, 4.32912 s, 24.2 $ $ sudo umount hdd Testing with an external USB HDD, its still not blazing fast, but there is a definite improvement: ntfs3 (new Paragon NTFS) $ sudo mount -t ntfs3 /dev/sda1 $ mount You might need to specify mount -t ntfs3, if it does not default to it. The release notes show Linux kernel 5.15.30 which is supposed to contain the new Paragon NTFS module, but after updating I see no performance improvement over the old NTFS-3g support. It worked out-of-the-box for me (although I'm testing on kernel 5.15.76 / RaspiOS release ). ![]()
